Ranchlands Zapata Ranch - Reservations, Sales and Office Manager
Ranchlands is seeking a new Reservations, Sales and Office Manager for our established hospitality program. This is a year-round, full time, on-ranch, office position. Primary responsibilities include ensuring all guests have the vacation of a lifetime, as well as the smooth running of day-to-day guest services. The right candidate will be warm, open, gracious, confident, extremely organized and have a passion for people, education and working as part of the larger Ranchlands hospitality mission. As the Reservations, Sales and Office Manager you are a representative of Ranchlands Stay and the greater Ranchlands ethic and mission.
Specifically, the daily responsibilities include:
Please note that this is an office based position. Neither Horseback Riding nor ranch work are in anyway part of the role. The Reservations, Sales and Office Manager will report to the Ranch Manager.
- Answer the phone and respond to emails to secure and confirm reservations for all Ranchlands Stay properties
- Greet and check in guests at Zapata Ranch
- Manage and complete basic financial reports
- Ensure that all details for guests are remembered and delivered upon
- Continue to build upon the high standard of hospitality
- Manage the comings and goings sheets
- Proven experience in a related field or proven passion for working with people is an absolute must

Applications are now open for Wrangler positions at Zapata Ranch 2020. As a wrangler your main priority is to provide an exceptional outdoor experience for all guests. You will ride with guests across the ranch, with the bison herd, across the National Park and wilderness areas and on ranch cattle moves. We do not ride nose-to-tail or on trails on the ranch. You must be an experienced life-long and confident rider to apply.
You must have the ability to educate about ecology, history, biodiversity of the ranch as well as share Ranchlands mission and those of our partners. A wrangler will also have other responsibilities through the summer including guiding hikes, assisting with workshops, serving in the lodge, taking on tasks and chores across the ranch from fixing and checking fence to maintaining shop and corral areas. A background or proven interest in ranching, biology, ecology, agriculture, hospitality, outdoor sports or conservation is favored. This is not a horse training or working with horses position, this is a people-person role with the opportunity to learn about all facets of the ranch and hospitality operation. Ranchlands Camp Lead Cook/Assistant Cook 2020
Ranchlands Camp is looking for an Assistant Cook/Lead Cook.
We are looking for someone that will assist the Head Camp Cook for 4 weeks before taking on the role as Head Cook for the remaining 3 weeks of Camp. You will be responsible for delivering an exceptionally high standard dining experience with fresh made food cooked over an open fire only, breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will also be responsible for all details related to the dining experience including but not limited to setting the table, lighting candles, washing napkins, clearing and washing dishes and grocery runs. Zapata Ranch - Assistant Cook 2020
We are looking for a creative and organized person that loves food and the great outdoors. You will be enthusiastic, have an outstanding can do attitude and be a warm and happy team player. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic individual looking to expand their skill set while working in a unique environment. You will assist the chef in the daily production of breakfast, lunch and dinner for guests and staff at Zapata Lodge. You will also assist in the development of a rotating seasonal menu which is tailored to guests needs. You will also be responsible for all details related to the dining experience including but not limited to dining room appearance, cleanliness of kitchen and facilities, management of other kitchen staff and grocery runs. You will report to our Head of Food & Dining, Chase Kelley.

Leathershop Internship 2020
Ranchlands is seeking a six-month intern for our leathershop. A background or proven interest in handicrafts is favored. Basic leather skills a bonus, but not essential.
Horsemanship Internship 2020
Ranchlands is looking for an experienced life long rider who would like to develop the skills to train and start young horses. Training experience not required as we will teach you. The internship is a 6 month commitment.
Culinary Intern 2020
We are looking for someone warm gracious and passionate about food, looking to learn more about cooking with local and seasonal produce. This person will be enthusiastic, creative, fun, hardworking, no prior professional cooking experience needed but want to learn more about producing great food and working in a team. There is the flexibility to also lead bison tours and guide hikes. Shared accommodation, utilities and food included.
Program Interns 2020
You will be an amazing all-rounder...an experienced horse rider, love hiking and the outdoors, warm and professional server, brilliant dishwasher, have an interest in ecology, conservation, ranching or related field. If you're looking to have a varied experience, looking to learn, then this is an experience for you. Shared accommodation, utilities and food included plus hourly wages for dishwashing and serving.
Ranch Internships 2020
Ranchlands is seeking six-month ranch interns to work on one of our very remote, large-scale working ranches. Preferred applicants will have some relevant experience or proven interest in a related field, at least intermediate riding skills, and must be prepared to live up to three hours from the nearest grocery store. The internship will provide a hands-on experience in all operations, from fencing and digging pipe lines to moving cattle and participating in grazing planning. This is a great gateway to a ranch apprenticeship for the right candidate.
