Horsemanship Workshop: Intermediate to Advanced

Ranchlands Camp

June 7 – June 12, 2020

A natural horsemanship experience with renowned horseman Cameron Schryver. We define intermediate and advanced riders as those who ride regularly, are very comfortable on a horse at three paces, have good balance, and are capable of long trots and more technical movements.

The Program

Cam is two-time World Champion Extreme Cowboy and all those that have had the pleasure of riding with him know that his teaching methods are clear, practical and above all, fun. By applying working ranch horsemanship and riding by feel, you will leave the week feeling a deeper connection to the horse and will better understand how to communicate, developing a better handle. The days are spent with one-on-one horsemanship instruction, educational demonstrations and using the landscape as your arena. Spend the evenings around the fire and discussing the day’s experiences or head to bed after an accomplished day. To meet an increase in demand we have added an additional week, we can help you decide which week would best suit you.

About Camp

There is no better way to disconnect from technology and reconnect with your surroundings than to sleep under the stars and enjoy meals at a dining table in the middle of the prairie. Each morning your cook prepares coffee and a hearty breakfast over a fire before you head out to enjoy the day’s activities. After a long day’s work enjoy an outdoor hot shower and relax in camp before supper is called. Expect bison pot roast, local produce salads, dutch oven baked breads and a glass of wine while watching the sunset over Pikes Peak. When dinner is over, take the conversation to the campfire or retire early to your comfortable Denver Tent Company tent, tastefully furnished by Filson. Camp staff will ensure your lantern is lit as dusk falls.
