Applications are now open for Wrangler positions at Zapata Ranch 2019. As a wrangler your main priority is to provide an exceptional outdoor experience for all guests. You will ride with guests across the ranch, with the bison herd, across the National Park and wilderness areas and on ranch cattle moves. We do not ride nose-to-tail or on trails on the ranch. You must be an experienced life-long and confident rider to apply.
You must have the ability to educate about ecology, history, biodiversity of the ranch as well as share Ranchlands mission and those of our partners. A wrangler will also have other responsibilities through the summer including guiding hikes, assisting with workshops, serving in the lodge, taking on tasks and chores across the ranch from fixing and checking fence to maintaining shop and corral areas. A background or proven interest in ranching, biology, ecology, agriculture, hospitality, outdoor sports or conservation is favored. This is not a horse training or working with horses position, this is a people-person role with the opportunity to learn about all facets of the ranch and hospitality operation. Ranchlands Camp Lead Cook/Assistant Cook
Ranchlands Camp is looking for an Assistant Cook/Lead Cook.
We are looking for someone that will assist the Head Camp Cook for 4 weeks before taking on the role as Head Cook for the remaining 3 weeks of Camp. You will be responsible for delivering an exceptionally high standard dining experience with fresh made food cooked over an open fire only, breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will also be responsible for all details related to the dining experience including but not limited to setting the table, lighting candles, washing napkins, clearing and washing dishes and grocery runs. Ranchlands is seeking a six-month intern for our leathershop. A background or proven interest in handicrafts is favored. Basic leather skills a bonus, but not essential.
Ranchlands is looking for an experienced life long rider who would like to develop the skills to train and start young horses. Training experience not required as we will teach you. The internship is a 6 month commitment. Begins March 1st 2019.
Zapata Ranch is looking for an Assistant cook. May through October 2019. No professional experienced required but must have a passion for food, be organized, able to work alone and with the creative and lovely head chef. We live remotely so the position fits someone who likes exploring the great outdoors in their free time.
Guest Program Intern

Ranchlands is seeking six-month ranch interns to work on one of our very remote, large-scale working ranches. Preferred applicants will have some relevant experience or proven interest in a related field, at least intermediate riding skills, and must be prepared to live up to three hours from the nearest grocery store. The internship will provide a hands-on experience in all operations, from fencing and digging pipe lines to moving cattle and participating in grazing planning. This is a great gateway to a ranch apprenticeship for the right candidate.
