THE RANCHLANDS REVIEW

EDITION 01 | FALL 2024

Home

What does it truly mean to be at home, both in a place and in a purpose? The timing feels especially fitting to explore this question as we come to the end of a year marked by significant change for Ranchlands. With the closure of our Chico Basin and Zapata Ranch leases, it’s been a year of transition and relocation.

For us, home is more than a single location. It stretches across the vast landscapes where we ranch, rooting us to a way of life and to a rhythm that feels both timeless and deeply connected to the land. Here, cattle graze, wildlife roams, and the land tells stories that are renewed with every season. This issue of the Ranchlands Review explores home from many angles: as a source of comfort, a bond that endures through change, and a space shaped by both past and present. Home isn’t always a single place, nor does it stay the same. It’s a continuous evolution, blending past and present, place and people.

Querencia

Everyone has a querencia, a place where you love what you do, how you feel, where everything makes sense and you’re at your best. The MP Ranch is mine.
