"A Beefmaster cow is more than an animal. The Beefmaster is a management philosophy embodied – a flesh-and-blood way of living with the land that represents how humans and their animals might do better to live in harmony with the indigenous patterns of the natural world than to try to fight them."

Inspired by a management and breeding philosophy that puts harmony with the natural world at its core, Ranchlands photographer Madeline Jorden created a series of double exposure photographs that illustrate the Beefmaster cattle's symbiotic relationship with the grassland ecosystem.
