Dogs of Ranchlands: Duke III and Jam

A film by Niklas Söderlund

June 14, 2024

Duke III got Jam, a mix between a hangin' tree cowdog and a border collie, when he was just a puppy. A good cattle dog can be an extremely effective coworker on a ranch, as helpful as several other horseback riders on a cattle move, but they can also create quickly problems if they get out of control. Duke calls Jam his "nuclear weapon," because of his energy, enthusiasm and independence. In this video, Duke reflects on Jam's role on the Paintrock and the relationship he has with his cattle dog.
