Paintrock Canyon Ranch

June 23 - 28, 2024

An immersive, five-night retreat with Katie Rodgers.

The Program

Join artist Katie Rodgers for a 5-night creative retreat at the Paintrock Canyon Ranch. Learn the art of seeing and translating your vision to paper while surrounded by dramatic western landscapes. Host Katie Rodgers will lead sessions exploring creativity, vision, and adventure to help you connect to your own creative process.

Find inspiration each day through exploring the rolling meadows, streams, and carved valleys of the Paintrock Canyon Ranch while hiking or on horseback. Unpack your art supplies while enjoying lunch out in the field, surrounded by the natural world and ancient petroglyphs and pictographs. Each session will encourage you to articulate your vision through your preferred artistic medium. Leave the workshop with new techniques for capturing dynamic landscapes, a greater understanding of your own creativity, and feel empowered to explore your artistic vision.

All levels of riders and artists are welcome, 21 years and older.

Paintrock Canyon Ranch

The Paintrock Canyon Ranch sprawls across northern Wyoming and is made up of rolling meadows and streams carving through high alpine valleys. The ranch’s landscape is characterized by the Paintrock Canyon, which starts at the ranch headquarters and meanders for 8 miles, opening into the Paintrock Basin at the foot of Cloud Peak, the highest peak in the Bighorn range. The Canyon itself is shaped by steep limestone slopes that climb thousands of feet high above the trail. Red sandstone cliffs, whose color transforms from deep orange to burgundy red with the changing light, rise above the meadows surrounding the ranch’s headquarters. The ranch is located 1.5 hours from Cody, WY, and 3 hours from Billings, MT where the largest commercial airports are. Shuttles through a third party are bookable to the ranch from Cody. Car rentals are also available from both airports.
