Frequently Asked Questions

Are the tents private?

Yes. Each tent can be fully zipped closed, creating a private space for sleeping and changing. The canvas is not see-through. While tents are part of a shared camp, you won’t be able to see into other tents, and each tent has its own defined space.

How far is my tent from the creek / common areas / bathrooms?

All tents are within easy walking distance (roughly 100 yards) from shared spaces such as the bar, lounge tent, kitchen table, toilet and shower.

Each tent is located no more than 150 feet from Paintrock Creek. Many guests find the sound of the creek provides natural white noise at night.

Can I stay alone?

By default, most guests stay in their own tent. If you’re traveling with a partner, family member, or friend and would like to share, one of our double tents may be a good fit. Let us know in your reservation notes when you book if you would prefer a double tent.

Do the tents have electricity?

There are no electrical outets in the tents. Inside each tent, lighting is provided by battery-powered pendulum lights.

Walkways throughout camp, as well as the exterior lights at each tent, are solar powered and turn on automatically at night. Shared spaces—including the bar, lounge tent, and dining area—are also lit with solar-powered lights.

What about bugs?

You’re staying outdoors, so insects are part of the environment. That said, all tents are equipped with screened windows and mesh doors, and bug spray is provided in each tent.

How easy is it to navigate camp at night?

Very easy. Each tent has a solar-powered entry light, and all walkways to common areas and bathrooms are lined with solar lights that turn on automatically after dark.
