Showers & Bathrooms
Bathing and bathroom facilities at the Paintrock are shared, outdoor amenities designed to be functional, private, and easy to access from anywhere in camp. Everything is laid out so you’re never far from what you need.
Shower Facilities
There are four outdoor shower stalls, housed across two bath houses located centrally within camp.
Each shower stall includes:
- A private changing area
- Hooks for clothing and towels
- A curtain separating the shower from the changing area, so clothes stay dry
- Biodegradable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash
Hot water is available and heated by fire. Water pressure and temperature may vary slightly depending on usage and time of day, but showers are reliably warm and comfortable.
In addition to the shower stalls, the bath house area includes:
- Four sinks for washing hands and brushing teeth
- Biodegradable soap
- Mirrors at each sink
Please note that sink water is not potable and should not be used for drinking. We provide drinking water at the dining area.
Toilets
There are four individual toilet structures located throughout camp.
Each toilet is:
- A fully private, stand-alone wooden structure
- Stocked with toilet paper, hand sanitizer, room spray, a trash can, and a lantern for nighttime use
Toilets are serviced and refreshed twice daily. There is no running water in the toilet structures.
Every tent is located no more than approximately 30 yards from a toilet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the showers private?
Yes. Each shower stall includes a private changing area and a curtain separating the changing space from the shower itself.
Does the shower have hot water?
Yes. Shower water is heated by fire. Temperature and pressure may vary slightly, but hot water is consistently available.
How far will I need to walk to the bathroom from my tent?
Every tent is within approximately 30 yards of a toilet. Showers are centrally located, with the furthest tent about 150 yards away.
Are towels provided?
Yes. Bath towels are provided, and fresh towels are available if needed during your stay. Towels for swimming in the creek are also available upon request.
What else is provided?
We provide biodegradable shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and hand soap. To protect the creek, we ask that guests use the provided products rather than personal soaps. To make the most of the shower facilities, we recommend bringing shower or water shoes and a small toiletry bag or caddy for carrying personal items to and from the showers.
How easy is it to navigate to the bathroom at night?
Very easy. All walkways to common areas and bathrooms are lined with solar lights that turn on automatically after dark.
Do the toilets have running water?
No. Toilets do not have running water, but each is stocked with hand sanitizer and serviced twice daily. Sinks are located nearby with hot water and soap for washing hands.
