Paintrock Canyon Ranch
The Paintrock Canyon Ranch sprawls across northern Wyoming, made up of rolling meadows and streams carving through high alpine valleys. The ranch’s landscape is characterized by the Paintrock Canyon, which starts at the ranch headquarters and meanders for 8 miles, opening into the Paintrock basin at foot of Cloud Peak, the highest peak in the Bighorn range. The Canyon itself is shaped by steep limestone slopes that climb thousands of feet high above the trail. Red sandstone cliffs, whose color transforms from deep orange to burgundy red with the changing light, rise above the meadows surrounding the ranch’s headquarters. At the bottom of the canyon is Paintrock Creek, widely known to be one of the best fisheries in the region for rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat trout. Wildlife is plenty– bobcat, elk, mule and whitetail deer, pronghorn and bears all roam freely.
The Program
Celebrate Harvest Season at Paintrock Canyon with a special Ranch Vacation including an immersive journey into the world of wine. Ride across the ranch during the day, and return to camp in the afternoon to explore the art of tasting and pairing. Through guided tastings, learn how the deep connection between the vines and the land shapes each wine’s distinct character. Meals will highlight local produce and dairy, Ranchlands meat, and a curated selection of wines from America and around the world.
Please note: this event is for ages 21+ only.
About The Host
Swedish native Ulrika Karlberg is a lifelong horse girl and a passionate wine expert. Growing up in a family focused on wine, she was introduced to the philosophy of wine early on and has travelled the world to refine her palate and expand her knowledge.
In her 20s, Ulrika began reviewing bars for Sweden’s premier restaurant guide, The White Guide, which connected her to Stockholm's vibrant food and beverage scene. After assisting one of Sweden’s top TV food personalities on her first two cookbooks, she relocated to New York in 2014, where she has spent the past decade hosting and curating wine tastings and wine-focused experiences. Her approach is organic, accessible, and engaging, stripping away the pretentiousness often associated with the wine industry. With a strong emphasis on the production, care, and philosophy behind each bottle, Ulrika hopes to cultivate a deeper connection between the drinker and the wine.
Ulrika holds a WSET Level 2 certification from The International Wine Center in New York.
